The project was approved by DDWP dated 23/11/2005 with a cost of Rs. 23.375 Million for a period of 36 months. After the salary packages of Project staff were revised as per policy of Federal/Provincial Government, the project PC-1 was revised by DDWP on 19/11/2008 with a cost of 38.293 Million with a few additions in Hardware & Software components. Again after neutral extension, project was successfully revised on 19th November 2011 at PDWP (129.896 million) till 30th December 2014. Project has been successfully implemented in all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where property tax is collected. General public is taking keen interest in obtaining computerized documents due to transparency factor. The Property Tax system has been implemented successfully which has shown tremendous results and brought efficiency in Tax collection system with huge increase in the revenue. To make system more powerful and transparent a separate GIS based module (Hayatabad & University Town Region on Pilot based) will be integrated with already developed system which will make the system more efficient & transparent resulting increase in revenue collection. It will provide a graphical proof of property units which will result in increase in Tax net.Currently there is no mechanism for collection of Professional Tax in a potential format, Thus no records can be obtained well in time, Therefore, the manual system needs to be automated and can also be integrated with Property Tax System, the Professional Tax system would be implemented in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Currently Analysis has been conducted & Prototype is ready for testing of real data.

Similarly there is no record of Confiscated Vehicles available and Excise and Taxation Department waste valuable man hours for information gathering. Court cases and other valuable information needs to be automated which will result in increase in the efficiency of Excise and Taxation Department which will lead to transparency and an increase in revenue collection.

The Project has been successfully implemented in all Taxable District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All Computerized Documents are issued on demand of E&T Department, which contain crucial information regarding the Assesie. The system will make the process transparent, eradicate misappropriation on revenue account and serve as information base for easy and timely access to the decision support information system. The said system (Property Tax) has been replicated in almost all Taxable districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Project Team has started entering the survey from PT-8 Registers for 2011-2014.

Property Tax is collected in 16 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Till date more than 700000 Property Tax Challans are issued across the whole district setup & a total figure of Rs . 1208518639/- (Rs. 1208.519 Million). has been collected via this automated system till 1st April 2012. Currently New survey is fully entered in Peshawar district (187000 approx units in ETO-II & 46000 approx units in ETO-III).

Twenty Data Entry Operators are hired & Contract agreement has been signed between M/s Oracon & Directorate of IT. Inception Report & preliminary analysis has also been performed. SRS Document will reach the project office by this week. Hardware is also purchased & NOC (Data Centre) will be established in the new facility given to the project staff by Excise & Taxation Department within seven working days.

GIS Activity has been started.

The Official Website of Excise & Taxation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been Developed (www.kpexcise.gov.pk) and work in progress on other web related activities.

Almost 98 % of project staff has been hired & remaining will be hired by next month .
Data Entry of Peshawar region completed & that of other districts are in progress.
Data centre is created in the DG Excise office Premises.
Total cost of project is Rs.129.896 Million whereas Total revenue generated till date only is Property Tax component is Rs . 1208518639/- ( 1208.519 Million). When other components will be automated, it will give a huge boost to these recovery figures.
Till February 2012 total expenditure is this project is of Rs. 42.893 Million.
